What we do
MDT International is a Europe and Middle East focused company providing a unique combination of services, from Seminars, Coaching, Business Development to Distribution Set Up and Management to all types of medical device manufacturers.
MDT International operates out of its headquarters in Laguna Beach, CA and from offices in France and Lebanon.
Associates in key countries including France, Germany, Italy, Lebanon, Spain, Switzerland and the UK offer comprehensive and localized expertise in those markets to companies wishing to export into the region.
Our People 
Christian B. Chahine
Christian is an experienced international executive leader with over 20 years of accomplishments in the healthcare markets around the world. His recent assignment was to set up in Brussels, Belgium, the full European operations of Wicab, Inc. a manufacturer of a breakthrough product for use with patients with balance disorders.
Christian identified, recruited and managed clinical trials and pilot studies in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and the UK. He established contacts with KOL (Key Opinion Leaders), performed market research in major countries, designed and implemented a training program and sales model for a new balance device and identified and initiated agreements with distributors throughout the region.
Previously, Christian served as World Wide Director of Sales & Marketing for Clement Clarke International in England and as Division Manager – EMA (Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa) for Becton Dickinson (BD) based in England and France.
As head of BD’s EMA Consumer Healthcare and Sample Collection divisions, he successfully set up direct operations, identified acquisitions and oversaw the regional implementation of global strategic objectives.
Christian also held the position of European Marketing and Sales Manager with Life Support Products, Inc. a market leader in emergency medical equipment. Under his leadership the company established international sales operations in most European countries, launched two new products annually and doubled sales in the last four years, in the region.
Christian earned a BA degree in Economics from Lafayette College, In Easton, PA and an MBA degree in Management and Finance from Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. He speaks fluent English, French and Arabic, has good working knowledge of Spanish and basic knowledge of German.
Christian, who is now back living in Irvine, is a Board Member and Sponsor of Heart of Sailing a not for profit organization that teaches navigational and sailing skills to children who are cognitively impaired.
Jane Skorvanek
As a founding member of Becton Dickinson Spain, Jane held Sales and Marketing management positions in their Medical and Home Health Care Divisions in Spain and Portugal for 20 years. She has experience with two start-ups and in converting markets from reusable to disposable medical devices. Although Jane’s business career has primarily been in the medical field, she also has experience from the food industry (Nestle) and in executive search (Egon Zehnder). Jane holds a B.A. degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern and a Master’s degree from the International Institute in Madrid. She speaks English, Spanish and French .
